Lunawood begins its journey in the pristine, responsibly managed forests of the Nordics. Harvested from PEFC-certified timber, our raw material meets strict environmental, social, and economic standards that prioritize forest regeneration and long-term health.
In Finland, only 75% of the annual forest growth is harvested — and for every tree cut, four new seedlings are planted. It’s a cycle of respect, renewal, and commitment to future generations.
The Art of Natural Weathering
As Lunawood Thermowood ages, it develops a distinguished silvery-gray patina — a natural evolution caused by UV exposure that enhances its organic charm.
While the warm brown tone can be preserved with pigmented finishes or UV-protective treatments, the wood's structural integrity and resistance to decay remain unchanged. With minimal upkeep required, Lunawood outlasts untreated alternatives — often going up to three times longer between maintenance cycles, depending on climate and exposure.
